As the scandal and corruption of 2009 fades in our rearview and the curtain rises on a new year, it’s a good time to ask: Who is today’s most admired American, and why?

What was that fella's name, or was it two guys...? You know, out planting the tree of liberty on the central square this past autumn.. right in Keene! Remember?

.....there will be more govt. corruption and scandle to come, so more of the principled sort wanted now... hey, what nicer place to be than where the liberty tree has sprouted? Let Keene show the way.

Anyways, it's the man planting that liberty tree who gets my vote. How worthwhile to have a city with it growing in the central square for all to see.

The American Taxpayer

The American Taxpayer has to be the most admired. They have worked hard to continue to play by the rules - pay their debts on time, pay their taxes and continue to support the local, state and federal economies and non-profits. Unfortunately, the taxpayer is being squeezed by the local, state and federal governments with higher taxes as are employers of the taxpayers saddled with ever-increasing regulation and tax burdens. The added financial pressures on the taxpayer with lower or stagnant pay against rising costs to support the balance of the population that takes from the system without giving their fair share is leading to new choices: cut discretionary spending and charitable donations in order to keep debt management in order, food on the table and the tax collector off their back. This November, the taxpayer will do what is necessary to retake possession of their freedoms and vote out the scoundrels that continue to steal from the hard-working tax-paying middle class and give the money to the rule-dodgers, handout takers, the wealthy politician strokers, back-room deal makers and the lazy unionized bureaucrats.

See you on November 2, 2010.

My first thought was Tiger Woods "Athelete of the Decade". He has had so many victories that we never knew about.

But I must say it has to be Barack Housain Obama. Since in office, he has made major effort, and spent many, many hours on priorities. His golf game is much better now that he has the time to work on it.
All the intelligent people he has "enlisted" are doing a great, great job running our economy and national security into the ground. They really are so intelligent that all of us Americans are putting our blind faith in their excellent decisions.
Life is sooooooo good. We are much better off than a year ago. In a few more years, everything is going to be free! No more work or worries. I am so proud of our great leadership in this country. They even have time for golf during terrorist....I mean extremist attacks.

I absolutely love Mr Obama's atticulate speech. It's all because of the fact that he was given an education which was totally paid for by the good old American taxpayers. We give special educational grants for "non-American" students.

I'm torn between President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton as the public figure I admire most. President Obama has faced more problems than I can imagine any human capable of dealing with. Although I don't agree with all his decisions, I agree with most of them, and am pleased that he could get anything done with Congress split down the middle. I admire his intelligence, obvious concern for those less wealthy, articulate speech, and his ability to enlist the help of multiple other intelligent people.
And I am proud to be represented around the world by a woman of Secretary Clinton's intelligence and diplomatic abilities. Both she and the President have turned around our image in the world.
